Meet Penny & Phil — Your Farmers & Hosts

Hello!  Thanks for visiting our site and hopefully our farm this season. We feel so lucky to share this land and its flowers with you.  We both grew up as “city kids” — Penny in Chicago, Phil in Kansas City — with traditional jobs before we experienced country life and got hooked.  After two years of searching for our perfect land, Still Point Flower Farm became our dream come true.

Penny is a professional event organizer and fundraiser, and we commonly refer to her as “Mrs. Fun” — she loves hosting get-togethers and growing and spreading joy through flowers. She’s your main point of contact for all things farm-related.

A marketing professional by day, Phil enjoys the nights-and-weekends role of “Mr. Fix-It” to keep everything running smoothly — an essential role on a flower farm and wedding venue.

This season, we welcome beginning flower farmer Sharon Besser to our team. She will be helping out on the farm growing and making bouquets as well as hosting a Madison Westside flower pick up location.

“This is paradise and we get to live here!” is Penny’s observation every morning as she raises the blinds and looks outside, no matter the season. It’s so true: we love our flower farm and we know you will, too. We can’t wait to share our flowers and our farm with you.

Where joy blooms,
Penny & Phil Molina

Why is it called “Still Point Flower Farm”?

Great question! The founders of Still Point Flower Farm borrowed the name from a T. S. Eliot poem:

“At the still point of the turning world… Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is…”

We loved the name and asked to use it when we purchased the property from the founders in 2016. They were honored that we asked, and we even presented them with “Founders” Still Point Farm t-shirts at closing. They live in Madison and remain friends, and now we are honored to carry on the work that they started here on this land.

Similarly, in yoga and meditation, “stillpoint” refers to a state of deep inner peace and stillness. This, too, represents what we desire our guests to experience at Still Point Flower Farm: peace, tranquility, and joy.

We’d love to share it with you.
